Top Five Skyrim Mods of the Week - March 24

On this week's show, we rain down cheese from the heavens, travel to the Khajiit homeworld, and show off an absolutely gorgeous graphics mod.

If you were one of those folks clamoring for more quest mods, you're in luck: this week's show has a couple of spectacular user-made quests. One of them even has talking tigers! After that, we show off a gorgeous graphics mod and somehow manage to recruit a small girl as our follower. That's not weird, is it? Yeah, that's probably weird.

Thanks for looking through all the mods and finding the greats. And keep up the chicken work.

@supertom221 Also, where did I ever say I don't have Skyrim for the PC? What was the point in calling me cheap? Again, you're making assumptions about things you know nothing about. I read their blog, where they almost always post about things they are currently working on or hope to work on. You need to get your head checked, because I think you have some logical problems. Your type of reasoning is very common is children with Asperger syndrome.

@supertom221 I'm not here to hold your hand. I said that they said it on their blog. They have said, themselves, they are looking into ways to bring mods to consoles. Look for it yourself if you're interested enough to make baseless claims against facts. "Hey, the sky is grey today." "NO IT'S NOT THE SKY DOES NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO BE GREY." "Uh, but I saw it's grey. Just look outside, its grey" "UR AN IDIOT. INSTEAD OF MAKING SUBSTANTIATED EVIDENCE THOUGH IM JUST GUNNA REPEAT WHAT I SAID THAT HAS NO BASE IN TRUTH." No, yeah, you make a lot of sense when you talk like that. You're a real convincing guy.

don't get why people go mad for ENB. It just slaps vaseline over your screen and messes with your brightness and saturation levels, messes with bloom and kicks your FPS square in the balls. Depth of field is a nice idea but it just messes with everything. I tried the ENB mod in this video and everything ended up looking like a blurry mess. I couldn't see details on things anymore, especially in the distance.

Are these the top 5 because there were no others available?

They didn't do ENB justice. ENB isn't about depth of field.. its about way more than that.

Explosive cheese? That's just awesome! I may re-buy this for my laptop just for the mods.

@ozzman69th You are the one who bought it for your lame ass console, you slapped yourself in the face. You live under a rock? In a cave? You must, because everyone knows mods are the reason you buy these games on PC. You made the choice to buy it for your console, now you want to whine that you are getting slapped in the face? Here's an idea, buy it for PC and STFU.

hector530

@ozzman69th how is it a slap in the face to console users? do console users make the mods? no? then im sorry its not a slap in the face. if you really want mods that badly get it for PC.

@Alkerio No, you are a fool, idiot, and apparently do not bother to read a comment before you jump on the offensive, as well as repeating the same world everyone else uses, proving that, in fact, YOU are the entitled little brat who clings to his toy and wants to get everything the others get because he wants to be cheap. I gave nothing but facts. I explained what modding is usually aimed to do and why it doesn't appear on consoles. Next gen? I was talking about how the CURRENT consoles cannot do mods. They are fossils, and cannot run un-signed code or any changes to the engine without a complete filtering from Bethesda. Skyrim on PC installs your game on your harddrive, so you can actively change the files. Skyrim on consoles is ON-DISK. You can do an install on the harddrive, but it always reads from the disc first. Now here's my Protip for you: Don't claim to know what Bethesda tries to do without providing proper evidence. You just sound stupid. And no, it won't work like the Workshop. SERIOUS modding needs to apply changes to the game itself. Now, that IS possible with a harddrive install, but it also means Bethesda will allow consoles to run un-signed code, paving the way for easy hacking and whatnot. Different mods may also create conflicts by using the same variables, and what then? Consoles have no mod managers. I suggest you enlighten yourself more about how modding works before you flame. I do not disqualify the option for next-gen, but do for current gen.

It's ok for PC gamers to mod games like this, but when a console gamer mods a game in any way it's the ban hammer.... Please bring mods like these to consoles so that we can have a slice of the cake for once instead of having to stick with the boring default game, whilst watching others have light sabers and what not. Please bring mods to consoles!!!!!! Even if its as optional content to download!!

Another suggestion for the Exploding Chickens saga: place 20 of them on the balcony of a certain bride and groom, run to the archer's balcony, and then shoot the chickens with an arrow as the bride speaks to the guests - PRICELESS!

Lol that explosive cheese one is really funny. This episode was the best so far with the more serious mods and funnier jokes.

Super ENB added so much eye candy for me, together with 2K Texture Mod.. :) It requires some decent enough hardware though.

Downloaded the ENB mod and now my Skyrim is broken beyond belief. Uninstalled the mod and reinstalled the game multiple times as well as cleared my save data and it's still broken.

You guys should use the same "Top 5" video format as they do at CNet. Its entertaining and to the point. It also is much more consistent.

@supertom221 You are a fool, you obviously don't read Bethesda's blog posts or are an active part of the Skyrim community. You sound like an entitled brat clinging to a toy he's had for years but never plays with, but doesn't want to give it away. Protip:Bethesda is actively looking for ways to bring mods to console players.Maybe its too late for Skyrim, but its a definite possibility for the next Fallout, and a near certainty for whatever comes after, with the next-gen consoles. They could easily create a "Bethesda Marketplace" similar to the Rock Band marketplace place where you buy and/or download individual dlc packs or mods. It'd be the console equivalent of the Steam Workshop, and is very do-able with some development time.

@guiplc NO you don't. Modding is not possible for consoles as they do not give you access to the files in fear of piracy. Modding is freeform filesharing in one of it's better essence, where instead of waiting for a product to be delivered to you, instead you can take an active part in contributing to make a better game for everyone. Consoles do not support that aspect, and besides, by this time they are considered fossils and all these ENB mods will not be possible without a major performance impact.
