Titanfall Xbox One Bundle Discontinued

"Titanfall bundle is done," Microsoft says.

The $500 Xbox One Titanfall bundle that went on sale in March and included a system, Kinect camera, one-month Xbox Live Gold membership, and copy of Titanfall has been discontinued.

"Titanfall bundle is done," Xbox boss Phil Spencer said on Twitter to a fan who asked if Microsoft would offer the bundle without Kinect.

Though you can still buy the Titanfall Xbox One bundle on eBay and through third-party sellers on Amazon, it's no longer available at major retailers like GameStop, Best Buy, and Target, as well as Microsoft's own store.

The Titanfall Xbox One bundle may have been discontinued, but you can currently pick up a $500 bundle that includes a system, Kinect, and copy of Forza Motorsport 5. Looking ahead, Microsoft will offer $399 bundles for Madden NFL 15 (August 26) and Sunset Overdrive (October 28). The Sunset Overdrive bundle comes with a white Xbox One, marking the first time that color option will be available publicly.

And in November, Microsoft will introduce a 1TB Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One bundle. Its release will represent the first time in the history of video games that a game console has shipped with a hard drive of that size.

I got the Titanfall bundle. Personally, I love the game & since I'm officially
DONE with CoD, it's probably the best FPS out, IMHO. Grr, trust me to start
disliking CoD when they're releasing a L.E. XBONE based around it. '-___-'

It was not doing well anyway so they could get a new fresh start in bundles

Not Surprised Considering Weak Xbox One Sales :P

Psycold

And soon Titanfall will be done as well since people were dumb enough to buy a game based on match making instead of dedicated servers.

Sunset overdrive looks so fun. I'm almost considering picking up a console for that game...Almost.

Next up, the Sunset Overdrive bundle is going to flop.  Once this happens, Micro$oft will come up with another gimmick and release a slim Xbox One dipped in gold and bundle it with Forza Horizon 2 and Quantum Break.

I got one while they were still around in EB Games. The bundle probably made me get my xbox earlier than with no game. Still plenty of life in the game for me too.

Titan fall is biggest selling game on x1 selling 2 million is pretty good. Ppl saying Titanfall didn't help sell any X1's can't be any further from the truth

5 months to sell out. Well, that went well.

I'll buy when they release a halo bundle. Preferably with a suitably halo-y skin. And not just a logo. I want it to look halo-y all over. Capiche?

Xantu looks for author info.... Eddie?

Yup.

I mean, to be fair, it is just a short series of facts about what is and isn't being offered. But still. Limited edition reaching its limit isn't really much to write home about

Great, great article.

Weak? it has been outselling the 360 in the same time frame. It is doing good, just the PS4 is doing phenomenal in terms of sales.

@Psycold

Don't know what you are talking about as Titanfall uses dedicated servers on Microsoft's Azure Cloud servers. Just because there is matchmaking does not mean it doesn't have dedicated servers. This game is NOT peer to peer.

McGregor
McGregor

@Psycold I'm not sure what you mean. Matchmaking is probably the biggest component a competitive multiplayer game can have. Dedicated servers mean nothing now days, as most internet connections and systems can handle the server and client load without any noticeable lag.

Do it. Master chief collection comes out the next month. Plus titanfall is still great.

@sonypony4eva Where in the article does it say it was a flop? Fanboys are f'n pathetic. Let's make up random facts that are completely baseless.

Yeah. I probably would have got that one if I could find it.

@jerjef  You do realize the Titanfall bundle received so much hype? It was the game that would sell hundred, thousand, millions of consoles.... It sold consoles, but it fell flat.

I'm not even sure this is bad news and less sure if this is even news at all. It's Ms though so it needs to be reported I guess

ohara1974

that'll happen after the holiday shopping season....I dont season any compelling reason the xbox will even make it close.....

PS4 is gonna trounce the xbox one

adamh1981
adamh1981

@dlCHIEF58 @bilalshaikh55 I would not be so sure about that. It's currently estimated to be on 5.1 million units sold globally. The 360 sold almost 6 million units in its first year. The Xbox One has only 3 months left to equal 360 sales.

@dlCHIEF58 @Psycold Dunno what the issue with servers and matchmaking is, but I know broadband in Australia is rubbish, and our multiplayer gaming suffers as a result.

For now the only MP games I'll buy will utilise system-link, at least until Australia's NBN is sorted.

jerjef

@allever @jerjef COD Ghosts was hyped and meant to sell consoles but it feel flat as well.  Don't tell me you support this brand of journalism.

jerjef
jerjef

@TheRealBigRich Figured a gaming site would want to report gaming news. If this constitutes news then every discontinued bundle should be reported. It's a sad truth that having Xbox One in your title draws more clicks than PS4. More clicks equals more ad revenue.  Ever since this Zoe Quinn controversy it's become unfortunately apparent that a lot of these gaming journalists don't care about video games and just care about furthering their career or attaining favors/benefits.  I'm not directly saying Eddie is one of them, but we are in a new era now and these click bait articles just further enhance the apathy we're developing for these articles.  Even if most journalists aren't corrupted, it's still much easier to follow the pack than blaze a new trail.

@ohara1974 Speaking of compelling reasons to own a system… Why did everyone buy a PS4 so soon? There is literally one reason to own it and it's a PS3 remaster.

hystavito
hystavito

@alightningboldt Well I don't have any specific claims to comment on :), but come on, the community and the press were going pretty crazy for Titanfall from the very first reveals to the release.  It was very hyped.

hugh1966
hugh1966

@adamh1981 Statistically, that means it will eclipse 360 sales, according to your figures there.

I have a dozen LAN gamers ready to pounce on CoD AW and XB1s if the game supports system link.

allever

@jerjef @allever  Ghost wasn't hyped the way Titanfall was. Sell consoles? which ones? The game is on every console and PC.  Cut it out with the nonsense.

TheRealBigRich
TheRealBigRich

Completely agree and it makes sense but to lose integrity while doing it is the consequence. Eventually that's all you are known for and there are a lot of sites that have converted to ps4 vs Xbox only news it seems. That might work for a while I just question the longevity of it

dani_i89
dani_i89

@stickybun @ohara1974  I've said this before, and I'll gladly say it again: the only reason PS4 is doing so well is because MS f'd up at the reveal E3. People felt compelled to rush out and just buy a PS4, knowing that the only options were Knack and Killzone...come to think of it, they still are the only options, in addition to Last of Us (remake) and soon to be Bloodborn (Souls clone). Well done Sony fans

alightningboldt
alightningboldt

It was very hyped. They kept saying how fun and fresh it is. But the thing about hype is sometimes it is for good reason. Such as in this case. The game is really fun

adamh1981
adamh1981

@hugh1966 @adamh1981 On the PS4 front though it's a completely different story.

It had until 15th November 2014 to reach the 6,088,532 consoles sold target set by the PS3 in its first year of release.

As of 6th September 2014 the PS4 has sold 10,339,687 consoles globally.

That's 4,251,155 more than what the PS3 sold in it's first year.....with just over 8 more weeks left on the clock to increase the figure more.

Based on the PS4s monthly sale ratio for this year I don't think it will quite x2 PS3 sales. It will get very close though.

adamh1981
adamh1981

@hugh1966 @adamh1981 well it's now currently estimated to be on 5,236,151 units sold globally as of 6th September 2014.

The target is 5,930,609 that the Xbox 360 sold in it's first year and Xbox One has just over 9 weeks left to hit this mark. November 22nd 2014 is the deadline.

Typically the Xbox One sells about 250-300K units globally a month. Except the months of February and March which saw a big sale boost for Titanfall. The last true official global sale statement from Microsoft came in January 2014 when they stated the had sold 3 million Xbox One consoles (to customers) globally by the end of 2013.

This now shows Xbox One has sold approximately 2,236,151 Xbox One consoles globally from the start of January to 6th September 2014. This figures is based off of VGChartz estimates.....which although are often unreliable initially, they do get revised and updated a few weeks down the line in response to both monthly NPD sales and Microsoft's official 3 monthly sales statements, which last stood at "north of 5 million units shipped" meaning they could not have shipped more than 6 million consoles out to retailers globally and most definitely not sold that many to actual customers.

So just a little over 9 months saw the Xbox One sell 2.2 million consoles to customers globally. They have just over 2 months left to sell 694,458 more Xbox One consoles to match the first year of Xbox 360 sales.

jerjef
jerjef

@allever @jerjef Sell consoles. Why else would anyone want a COD game on their console? To sell extension cords? You can't honestly tell me Ghosts was hyped big time.  The first next gen COD game? Come on, you're accusing me of nonsense.

jerjef
jerjef

@TheRealBigRich Tell me about it. I'm still waiting for the shocking expose, "Phil Spencer doesn't like kittens!!!". Pathetic.

allever
allever

@jerjef @allever  I don't see CoD as a console seller.  The game isn't new or different enough to warrant gamers to run and buy a new console to play it.  They can play it on their old console.

jerjef
jerjef

@allever @jerjef Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but considering early DLC exclusivity in the past has determined which console version people get, you have to admit the series has some serious pull.
