Titanfall K'NEX playsets on the way

Respawn Entertainment and K'NEX partner up for new line of building toys based on video game.

by

Respawn Entertainment and K'NEX today announced a new partnership that will see the construction toy company create a line of building toys based on the Titanfall game.

The K'NEX Titanfall playsets will include toys based on Pilots, Titans, Spectres, and other "key elements" from the game. A sneak peek of the new building sets will be provided at the NY Toy Fair in February 2014.

The Titanfall sets are designed for builders aged 8 and up, though the game itself has not been given age rating yet by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

Titanfall will not be the first gaming property to make the leap to K'NEX. Other gaming brands with K'NEX playsets include Mario Kart, Angry Birds, Pac-Man, and Super Mario. K'NEX also makes building sets based on bands like The Beatles and KISS.

Titanfall launches on March 11, 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. The game will never be released on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4, though a sequel could reach Sony platforms, according to Respawn Entertainment cofounder Vince Zampella.

Of all the construction toy brands out there, why did it have to be K'Nex? Has anyone seen the Call of Duty MegaBloks sets? They look pretty awesome. Would've loved to see what Titanfall figures would've looked like in that form. I suppose I'll hold final judgement until we actually get to see the things though. Shame this'll be as close as I get to the franchise for a while.

"Titanfall will not be the first gaming property to make the leap to K'NEX. Other gaming brands with K'NEX playsets include Mario Kart, Angry Birds, Pac-Man, and Super Mario."  Anyone else noticing a little disparity between the previous games and this one???

So a game that will presumably be rated for ages 15+ (if not 18+) is getting kits released for a system aimed at 10 year olds? Haven't seen something so bafflinginly dumb since the 80s when they made Terminator, Rambo, and ALiens action figures.

Holy crap, it's been years and years since I played with K'nex. That stuff was half of my childhood. *reminisces*

So the game will be 17+ and they make toys out of it? It's like megabloks of Gears, Halo and COD, that doesn't makes any sense. I understand action-figures, but K'NEX???

"The Titanfall sets are designed for builders aged 8 and up"

Tells me enough about the maturity of the game.

K'NEX..... that's something I haven't heard about in a loooooong time. It' brings back wonderful memories of me trying to make the perfect sword that would not fall apart when swung. I was probably about 6 when I first started playing with them. Been 21 years since then too.... Man I'm getting old...lol

@Whargies Sigh K'NEX swords...I know the feeling lol

Did you try making a shield? The handle never seemed to work right for me. I did make a catapult though so it was all good after that XD

@Solace427 @Whargies  Haha no, I never was able to make a shield either. I just ended up making a bunch of cars and still tried making the sword since that was pretty much all I could do lol.

@DIGN And I make jokes about you making "dollars" while I smoke a cigarette and enjoy my bottle of whiskey.
