Tiger Woods' agent negotiating with another game company

EA Sports may have dropped Tiger Woods from the title of its future PGA Tour games, but the athlete's run in professional golf games could continue with another publisher.

Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told ESPN that he is currently speaking with another, unspecified game company regarding the golfer's video game rights. EA Sports said yesterday that its partnership with the PGA Tour "remains strong," noting EA is the "exclusive" developer of PGA Tour games.

"We had an incredible run," Steinberg told ESPN. "Outside of [John] Madden, you would be hard pressed to find a sports figure that meant as much to a video game company as Tiger meant to EA. But times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership and frankly so did we."

Woods was the most dominant player in professional golf during the 2013 season. He won five times on tour--including at The Players--was named Player of the Year, and topped the money list, taking home more than $8.5 million in winnings during the season.

EA Sports' new PGA Tour game is currently in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and mobile devices, though no release date has been set.
