The new characters are played by Dacre Montgomery (Jason), Naomi Scott (Kimberly), Becky G (Trini), RJ Cyler (Billy), and Ludi Lin (Zack). Additionally, The Office alum David Denman will play Jason's father.

Last month, it was announced that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston had signed on to play the Rangers' mentor and creator Zordon. Cranston is no stranger to the franchise, having worked as a voice actor on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers in the early 1990s.

Additionally, Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks will play the evil Rita Repulsa. She has a new look in the film--check out her costume here. You can also see the new, Halo-like Power Rangers costumes here.

The new Power Rangers movie is set for a March 24, 2017 release. The film will be directed by Dean Israelite, who previously made Project Almanac. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer is optimistic that next year's film will be the first of many.

"We are really, really excited about the Power Rangers movie," he said on a conference call with analysts in May. "We could see doing five or six or seven."
