There will be a compatible smartphone application available summer 2017 that can connect to Switch's online service, and you will be able to invite friends to play, schedule game sessions, and chat with friends through the app. Subscribers will also get access to a free game each month.

Nintendo has not stated how much the online subscription will cost.

Nintendo Switch is launching March 3 and will cost $299.
