The Last of Us 2 Brings on Westworld Writer; Story Described as "Intense"
"Spoiler alert: it's intense."
The Last of Us: Part II will be co-written by Westworld writer Halley Gross, director Neil Druckmann has confirmed. Posting on Twitter, Druckmann said, "Halley's my kickass co-writer."
He added: "Can't wait to share more of the story with y'all. Spoiler alert: it's intense."
According to IMDB, Gross is credited with writing Westworld episodes "Trompe L'Oeil" and "The Adversary," while she's listed as a story editor for other episodes such as "The Stray" and "Chestnut."
Druckmann also confirmed on Twitter that the hauntingly beautiful song from The Last of Us: Part II's announcement trailer was "Through the Valley" by Shawn James. Listen to it again below.
In other news about The Last of Us: Part II, it's been confirmed that Bruce Straley, who co-directed the first game and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, will not return for the sequel. He's reportedly taking a yearlong sabbatical.
