The Chair That's Built for Gaming
Forget your force-feed joysticks and your 3D computer speakers. What you really need is the proper chair.
Forget your force-feed joysticks and your 3D computer speakers. What you really need to possess in order to fully, completly, totally enjoy the ultimate gaming experience is the proper chair. And we're not talking La-Z-Boy here. What you need, at least according to some people, is the Intensor gaming chair.
The chair comes complete with a "patented, built-in, immersive sound system which provides a strong tactile feedback sensation for a more realistic gaming experience." That sound system consists of five built-in speakers that carry sound vibrations through the chair's polypropylene surface to the user's body, "thus providing an incredible overall tactile and moving experience."
The chair will be featured at the E3 booths of ION Storm, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Virgin Interactive, GT Interactive and Acclaim, among other companies. So it's certain that members of the gaming industry will get a taste of what the Intensor sounds and feels like.
The rest of us will have to wait for late summer, when the Intensor is expected to be available in retail, where it will sport a $300 to $600 sticker price, depending on the options that come with the chair.
