Amazon's superhero/antihero TV show The Boys is coming back for its fourth season next year, and the first trailer for it has now arrived. The video and this story contain spoilers for The Boys.

It's a tense time in the world of The Boys, and the stakes are "higher than ever," Amazon said in the official plot description for Season 4. Homelander continues to exert his power and control while Butcher is even further relegated. The fate of the world hinges upon whether or not The Boys can come together.

The trailer also features Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character making fun of the name "The Boys," which is pretty great. The trailer ends with a striking scene involving Homelander (Antony Starr) standing in an elevator with blood all over his face. Here's the trailer:

"The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca's son as well as his job as The Boys' leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late," reads a line from Season 4's official description.

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Season 4 introduces the actors Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

In other news, A-Train from The Boys is coming to Call of Duty in the upcoming Season 1 update. Another character from The Boys will be in Season 1 as well, but they have not been announced yet.

The Boys isn't the only big show coming to Prime Video in 2024, as Amazon's Fallout TV series is also coming next year.
