WB's The Batman is now in theaters in many international markets, and it's already breaking box office records. The DC film opened in some international markets a day or more early, and it had the biggest launch day result during the pandemic for a WB film--$5.3 million.

The Batman is now also the second-biggest first-day launch for a Batman film since The Dark Knight Rises for international markets. The film is releasing today, March 4, in the US--we'll report back with domestic numbers for the film when they are announced. These box office figures came from Deadline.

The Batman was released first in Korea on Tuesday and it made $1.7 million there. On Wednesday, it spread to places like France ($1.4 million), Sweden ($414,000), Indonesia ($362,000), and Belgium ($193,000). In some cases, The Batman is pacing ahead of The Dark Knight and Dune, which are positive signs for the film's longer-term outlook.

Globally, The Batman is poised for a huge start this weekend. It's projected to bring in as much as $245 million over its opening frame to help reignite the box office.

In other news about The Batman at the box office, movie giant AMC announced that it will charge more for The Batman as part of its new variable pricing program.
