Tamagotchis Battle to the Death!

If you've grown tired of virtual pets that you just feed, clean, and play with, Bandai's set to give you something extra. Its new DigiMon product will go on sale nationwide on January 1, and takes the Tamagotchi series to the next level.

With DigiMon, you can hatch and take care of your DigiMon, but as you play with him he gets stronger. When your DigiMon gets strong enough, you can battle a friend's DigiMon by linking the two key chains together.

This makes the game of raising a virtual pet all the more interesting. It's certain that as Bandai's DigiMon release gets closer, more "battling" virtual pets will appear on store shelves to compete with it. Check out Bandai's site for more information on the DigiMon.
