Microids has launched a new official Web site for Syberia, its upcoming adventure game. The new site contains a general introduction to the game's story and characters, a group of downloadable wallpaper images, and screenshots from one of the four main areas featured in the game. The publisher plans to include information about additional areas in the coming weeks.

Syberia will let players assume the role of Kate Walker, a lawyer from New York who is hired by a toy company to complete the acquisition of an automaton factory located in a mysterious European village. Players will travel through a series of locations ranging from an industrial town with underground mines to a seaside resort on the shore of a vanished sea. The game will feature a wide variety of puzzles, prerendered environments, and detailed characters.

Syberia is being developed at Microids' Montreal studio and is scheduled for release in May. We've posted some new screenshots from the game in the gallery above. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game and visit the new official Web site.
