Surgeon Simulator 2013 gets Team Fortress 2 update

Play as the medic and operate on the heavy.

Indie hit Surgeon Simulator 2013 will be getting an update today allowing users to play as Team Fortress 2's medic and operate on the heavy.

The update will be free for owners of the game on Steam, and will be released today at 18:00 BST/10:00 PST.

The early prototype for Surgeon Simulator 2013 was originally developed in 48 hours in January as part of the 2013 Global Game Jam. The full version of the game was released in April. The game involves the player attempting to perform various difficult surgical procedures with one in-game hand.

"This is a game that makes it an absolute joy to not only fail, but fail spectacularly," said GameSpot in its Surgeon Simulator 2013 review.

Where's "Kill me..."?

This is the worst update known to man. The hand won't grab anything and when it does the tools are useless. But if you somehow manage to uber the heart and put in in the chest the right way up in the right place with NOTHING else in there apparently that isn't right even though in the normal game it is. This update has put me off the game entirely. The only funny part was the medic's random dialogue.

Surgeon Simulator is a fantastic game when someone has pissed you off. You just pretend the patient in the game is them, and away you go!

This would have serious, serious potential if they had the Heavy awake during the surgery like he was in "Meet the Medic."

This will be sort of... meh... if they don't have dialog for the Medic (and hopefully the Heavy, too!)

Actually i thought this guy who performs the surgeries with one hand, has a lot in common with that one armed doctor from The Amazing Spiderman...but anyhow atleast medic doesn't have that Stupid watch on his wrist!

Everyone who has watched an episode of CSI is a forensics expert and anyone who has played Surgeon Simulator is an expert surgeon, lol.

Can't think of more fitting characters for the game.

@FluxxCraft if you watched the Meet The Medic trailer, you would have known what to do after you put the heart in

@HKILLER88888 Yeah, who the hell wears a watch during surgeries (it's a bacteria hazard) and such an ugly watch at that. Doctors make a lot of money, can't they afford better watches or is it because of this retro 80's trend that is going on?

@gamingfrendly Actually, if I tried to operate on someone for real then I'd imagine Surgeon Simulator would protray that quite accurately. :P

Agreed.   This looks nothing like any of the Fucking Simulators I've seen.

@Fryboy101 Even so it is a royal pain in the arse to actually get to that part as it is hard as hell to pick things up.

@Hurvl@HKILLER88888i don't know man...i gave up making sense out of this long time ago and after seeing game spot giving it an 8.0 i was like : so this is your get back because people rated garbage truck simulator 9.1 just to tell you stop being ridicules?well you guys have earned it to get insulted by your own users...

@Renunciation WTF! There are Fucking Simulators now? Damn, those "erotic" games are all so bad. Whenever I hear of them through PC Gamer or Gamespot (which fortunately isn't often, they're a waste of space), they always get really bad ratings.

@HKILLER88888 Street Cleaning Simulator came out 2 years ago, so it's a little late to get even by giving this game an 8.0. That rating isn't even that high, far from the 9.1 Street Cleaning Simulator got. I think a reviewer just happened to like it, because it fitted his personal taste. Reviews are very personal after all.

@Renunciation Well, if you hadn't written Fucking with a capital F, I'd never would have thought of writing a reply like the one I did. It looked like an actual game title when written Fucking Simulator, so I just intentionally misunderstood your comment :P.

@Hurvl @Renunciation  LOL.   My comment wasn't meant to be taken seriously!  I was just twisting the meaning of gamingfriendly's post for humorous purposes; he seemed to be angry that the game is called a "simulator", because the game is  clearly not an accurate simulator by any means.   Rather, the game is a bit of a parody --- so I made a parody of his comment.

(On a slightly more serious note:  I first saw a "Fucking Simulator" on a friend's computer over 20 years ago, and it was bad.  I'm sure the genre is still around -- and equally certain that the genre hasn't improved much... even with vibrating controllers now abound in the gaming industry!  Go figure....    And now I'm done discussing such games.  :D )
