TOKYO—Capcom announced today that it is porting Street Fighter III: Third Strike to the PlayStation 2 on July 22 in Japan. No retail price has been set for the game yet, which will be released in a normal and special edition package. It will arrive in American stores right around the same time but only as part of the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, which will also contain Hyper Street Fighter II.

Originally released in arcades in 1999, Street Fighter III: Third Strike has only been previously ported to the Sega Dreamcast. The fighting game is renowned for its variety of playable characters and technical level of gameplay, which features a special fighting system that allows players to parry and counterattack.
