With Stranger Things Season 2 set to debut in 2017, fans might be wondering what to expect. While plot details are being kept under wraps for now, producer Shawn Levy has now told fans they can expect "next-level" and "crazy" sequences, as well as payoffs for some of the storylines from Season 1.

"A lot of Season 2 is next-level, some crazy stuff, but we must service these characters who are now beloved, who are known to the audience," Levy said recently on Southern California Public Radio, as reported by Collider.

Stranger Things Season 1 was praised by critics and ratings were apparently very strong. The show is bleeding into pop culture and the stars will even get to meet President Obama next week. Levy acknowledged that the show's creators and producers are indeed feeling the pressure to deliver.

"Yes, the pressure is on," he said. "It would be so blatantly disingenuous of me to say differently. It's scary to have people love something this much. It becomes impossible to banish all thoughts of not wanting to disappoint. This has been the challenge of it: on the one hand as we've see in the movie world, to do a follow-up that feels like the same thing is disappointing to an audience; to abandon things or change things [from the original], that disappoints the audience."

Levy produced the Night at the Museum movies and was attached to make the Minecraft movie for Warner Bros. before Mojang apparently vetoed the script.

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously described Season 2 as being "darker and weirder." Season 2 may be polarizing, they said, acknowledging some people may enjoy Season 1 better.

The new season is slated to debut in 2017, though a specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
