Assassin's Creed star Michael Fassbender was considered for a role in the box office smash Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He said in a recent Happy Sad Confused podcast that he had conversations with Lucasfilm about appearing in the film, but it didn't work out in part because his schedule was too busy.

"We talked about a role," the Oscar nominated actor said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. "We had a conversation. I'm pretty sure I was busy doing something else in the summer [that JJ Abrams] was kickstarting that."

Fassbender did not say what role he and Abrams discussed for The Force Awakens. It's exciting to think about him appearing in the movie. Given how versatile he is, it's not hard to picture him playing a part on either side of the Force.

In November, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Eddie Redmayne talked about how he auditioned for the evil Kylo Ren--Adam Driver ultimately got the part.

Fassbender's newest movie is Assassin's Creed, which officially opened on December 21. For more on the movie, check out GameSpot's review and what other critics are saying.
