Amazon's online storefronts in Europe have been having a bit of an issue keeping upcoming product announcements under their hats in recent months. In June, Amazon's French site gave an early heads up on Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3 and then weeks later offered the first word on the Team Ico Collection. Amazon Germany took over in July, preemptively announcing Microsoft's 4GB Xbox 360 Arcade bundle.
Into August, and Amazon France has returned with what appears to be product listings for two collections from Ubisoft. According to the Web site, Ubisoft will release a Splinter Cell trilogy and Prince of Persia trilogy on November 2 (an image of the Sam Fisher-led three pack was captured by The Sixth Axis before being pulled).
Other than saying both were being released for the PlayStation 3, the listings gave no indications of what gamers can expect from the three-game packs. They did not say whether or not the graphics for the games would be scaled up to HD, a la the God of War Collection.
The listings gave no indications of what gamers can expect from the three-game packs. Presumably, the Prince of Persia collection would include the first three titles in Ubisoft's Sands of Time trilogy, which began in 2003 and inspired a commercially apathetic Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film tie-in. Beyond this year's well-regarded Splinter Cell Conviction, the stealth action series has seen four installments, dating back to 2002.
Ubisoft had not responded to requests for comment on either listing as of press time.
