Activision has revealed that its upcoming superhero action game, Spider-Man: The Movie Game, will be released for the PC, as well as several console game platforms. Unlike Activision's Spider-Man action game released last year, this game is based on the upcoming Spider-Man motion picture starring Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe. The game is set in and around New York City. Players will assume the role of Spider-Man and embark on a quest to stop the evil plans of the Green Goblin and his minions.

Spider-Man: The Movie Game will include a new combat system and a variety of new enemies. The game will also have a free-roaming control system that lets players rise and descend while swinging, bank around buildings, make zip lines between buildings, and cut weblines for sudden drops.

We've posted some screenshots, which show off some of the characters and environments that will appear in the game. The PC version of Spider-Man: The Movie Game is being developed at Gray Matter.
