Take-Two Interactive has announced that its new PlayStation game, Spec Ops: Ranger Elite, is headed for stores. Ranger Elite is the sequel to Take-Two's popular budget shooter Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol , which has sold more than 800,000 units to date.

The Spec Ops games are military-themed shooters that take place in modern theaters of war. The franchise originated on the PC as series of a squad-based tactical action games, though both the Spec Ops: Ranger Elite and Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol games for the PlayStation are smaller-scale two-person shooters.

Spec Ops: Ranger Elite is available now at a retail price of $10.
