SouthPeak Interactive will develop and publish PC and PlayStation games based on Wild, Wild West - The Movie, starring Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, and Salma Hayek. The film, directed by Barry Sonenfeld, will be released on July 2. The movie follows two government agents who have to stop a mad scientist from assassinating the president.

"Developing these games based on Wild, Wild West - The Movie is a tremendous honor and responsibility for SouthPeak Interactive," says Armistead Sapp, SouthPeak Interactive's president. "Warner Bros. has placed a lot of faith in us to deliver a game that's as exciting and entertaining as Wild, Wild West - The Movie will be, and we intend to deliver."

The PC version will give gamers control of agents, James T. West and Artemus Gordon, as they fight the conspirators who assassinated Lincoln and plan to do the same to president Ulysses S. Grant. Details on the storyline for the PlayStation version have yet to be decided and will be announced sometime in the next few weeks. Games for both platforms will be shown first at this May's E3 in Los Angeles and scheduled for a full release sometime late in the 1999 fourth quarter.
