Sound Byte Radio: Episode One

On GameSpot's first ever music podcast, we tune in to the sweet sounds of a Street Fighter II cover, take in a track from a Dreamcast classic, and listen in to The Last Story.

Greetings and salutations, fellow music listeners. It is my pleasure to introduce you to our first episode of the (hopefully) bi-weekly music podcast Sound Byte Radio. The purpose of this audio show is to explore the finest the game industry has to offer in terms of music, be it recent fare from 2010 and beyond, or even tunes of yesteryear from the '80s and '90s.

Yes, you will hear my voice pop up in-between tracks, but the spotlight is on the tunes crafted from the hard-working hands of the industry's most talented composers and music-makers. Keep in mind that this is not to be confused with the previous Sound Byte Radio project.

Without further ado, check out our first episode.

If you like what you hear, leave a comment below or PM me with your two cents or song requests. Once again, thank you for listening and I do hope you enjoyed today's selection of music.

Sneakman! Couldn't have picked a better tune from Jet Set Radio myself! Sneakman, Let Mom Sleep, and Funky Dealer (JSR Future) are my absolute faves from the series. Can't wait for the XBLA release!

That image should say 'touch her shoulder' instead. Missed opportunity! Wow, didn't know what this would be, but it's pretty neat. Great song choices.

@jayd02 That's what the rest of Sound Byte was about. Check it out for loads of interviews with composers.

You need to interview some composers from the industry. Play their music while you talk to them. Talk about the music while we listen to it. Break down what is going on in the music and the game and how they correlate together.
