VR-1 and Sony Communication Network's S-net online service have signed a deal to bring VR-1's newest title, The S.A.R.A.C. Project, to Japan.

Gamers probably know VR-1 best for its Fighter Ace and UltraCorps titles on MSN Gaming Zone and other projects on America Online.

"According to Jupiter Communications, Japan is one of the top five primary Internet markets in the world and is second only to the United States in showing the greatest market potential over the coming years," said Mike Moniz, president of VR-1. "Our agreement with So-net demonstrates that we recognize the potential of this market. This is only the first step in our overall strategy of establishing a greater presence in the region."

The massively multiplayer real-time 3D game called The S.A.R.A.C. Project takes place on a futuristic oceanic planet where players explore new areas and combat others. The title will be the first premium title on So-net. Deals to expand the two companies' relationship is a possibility. VR-1 and So-net have dealt with one another before. In May, the online service endorsed VR-1's Conductor Technology as its recommended online gaming platform.
