Snoop Dogg in True Crime fo-shizzle

Activision confirms West Coast rapper will be playable in its upcoming Streets of LA

Activision continued its True Crime: The Streets of LA publicity offensive today, apparently unfazed by an 11th-hour legal move to prevent the game's release. As part of building hype surrounding the game's November 4 ship date, Activision confirmed what has largely been known--or at least rumored--among gamers for weeks: rapper Snoop Dogg will be an unlockable character in True Crime.

Besides being playable, the Snoop character will be able to drive his own customized, hydraulic-enhanced convertible. Activision made no mention as to whether or not there would be Snoop-specific missions.

Besides being in True Crime, Snoop Dogg is also featured on the game's soundtrack, along with many other West Coast hip-hop stars. A Snoop song was also part of the Gran Turismo 3 soundtrack.
