A prototype of Indivisible, a role-playing game in development at Skullgirls studio Lab Zero, has been released on PlayStation 4.

The demo is available now on both the North American and European PlayStation Store. Its product description says it "will give you an early look at Indivisible's gameplay."

It continues: "This is a small taste of what we have in store for you in the final version, but representative of the direction we want to take the game."

Indivisible is a side-scrolling RPG inspired by classic 2D games such as Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid. It will take players on an adventure "spanning a huge fantasy world inspired by our own world's various creatures and mythologies."

Players will "navigate beautiful environments using a variety of different traversal abilities, and engage monsters in fast-paced combat."

Indivisible has a fixed funding campaign, which means its developers will only received crowdfunding pledges if it hits its goal, which in this case is $1.5 million. Should it do so, publisher 505 Games has signed up to contribute a further $2 million.

A number of playable guest characters have also been announced for the game, including Annie from Skullgirls, The Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter, Shovel Knight, and Juan from Guacamelee, among others.

"We will adapt each character to the Indivisible's art style, and incorporate their abilities and personalities into the game's distinctive battle system," the studio said, discussing these characters.

The game is planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Along with the PS4 prototype, a PC demo build can be downloaded via the game's official website. Take a look at screenshots and artwork for the game in the gallery below.
