SimCity 64 in Motion

A few weeks ago we took SimCity 64 for a spin. Today we bring you video of the game in action.

One of the 64DD titles shown at this year's Space World was SimCity 64. Looking like a simplified version of the popular PC series, the DD version will let players create cities and then store them on the 64DD ROMs. Through a link between the Game Boy Camera and the 64DD, players can take pictures of themselves to add to in-game characters - making them a part of the virtual world. Players will also be able to fully explore their city creations by strolling through them as 3D polygonal areas. From there you'll be able to interact with characters in an RPG-like fashion.

The game looked quite nice at Space World (as you'll see in the video we've put together), and it's a shame the title is currently only in 64DD-only. There's word, however, that Nintendo may bring the game to the US in a scaled-down version (meaning DD-only functions would be absent). That would likely be a smart move on Nintendo's part, as N64 sim fans are eagerly awaiting the title.

Should Nintendo decide to bring the title stateside, you can count on seeing us report it right here on GameSpot News. In the meantime, make sure to check out our video from Space World.
