Okay, but when is the "Fix The Broken Stuff" DLC going to be available? You can't sell a new tie to guy whose pants keep falling down to his ankles.

Hmmm, a DLC for a game I couldn't play with my wheel (Logitech Driving Force GT)? No thanks.

'Rouen-Les-Essarts is an odd pick, since putting in the old Spa would have given much the same effect and been more familiar' Spa would be a serious ordeal to model in the short span of time they've had to create this pack. Some of SMS' staff previously worked on Prototype-C, which featured Rouen as a bonus track. Like Enna, Brno and vintage Silverstone it's a track they have past experience creating. 'How about some Ferraris or F1, nascars, other professional race cars?' Ferrari are very difficult to license nowadays, the previous game could only secure the license for the 360, and titles like TDU2 have failed entirely. As for F1 and NASCAR, the licenses are already owned by Codemasters and Eutechnyx.

Are you all really this surprised about EA already putting out a DLC content pack? Ill bet that this content is already on the disc and was held off for this exact reason....to get more money out of your pockets. Maybe they should first focus on fixing the many bugs in the game to make their customers happy enough to want to buy the DLC pack.

Huh. I usually hate DLC from EA games per price gouging and pretty petty perks, but this actually has a niche to it. Hockenheim with the mile-long straights in and out of the woods! Monza without chicanes! Silverstone with only 3 braking points! Rouen-Les-Essarts is an odd pick, since putting in the old Spa would have given much the same effect and been more familiar, or La Sarthe for something more famous. We're talking an honest 200mph+ in modern cars at these tracks, which is the sort of super-high-speed insanity that the game lacks.

Traded this game yesterday. I would review it as there's so much right with it and then you get to the handling. This was so close to being TOCA3 replacement, such a shame! Can you remember just how much game we got in TOCA3? You just had to unlock it and that was the challenge of it. Did I mention Shift 2 Handling is just so unrealistic? PGR4, GT5, Forza3, Dirt and even Grid make this game cower in the corner. I got Motorstorm Apocalypse instead, the handling on that is more realistic, and force feedback works as it should.

Like the fact the ford capri and ford escort have been added. Just a shame the handling totally ruined the game, otherwise this would have been a classic.

wow, DLC already? that didn't take long at all. you paid $60 dollars alread and an additional $10 for this? not cool imo. this the bad side of DLC.

It's not really content held back, It's Slightly Mad Studios being allowed to work on the content they want to make now that the game has shipped. This is pretty much a mini-sequel to their previous title GT Legends. Some of it was done pre-release, but there was about as much completed as the Ferraris in Shift 1, ie. not much.

EA doesn't even try to pretend that they don't purposely hold content back for some quick DLC, do they?Eat it up yokels!

Loving the cars man especially the Lotus Cortina and Ford Escort. Now if they'll add a Lancia Stratos and a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth then the game would be even more interesting. Maybe add Fuji Speedway.

A DLC released this fast? More like it was already created for the original, cut out, left for a few months.. and then fed to the sheep to make extra profit

razgriz_101
razgriz_101

Loving the fact the Ford Capri and Cortina are being added, dunno why people complain when theres 14 new cars and 6 new tracks about a month and a half after launch :S Tbh for the cars in the pack honestly i think this is a steal for some of those cars as a few of those have never seen the light of day in a racing game.

I am definitely holding off on purchasing this game. DLC is synonymous with 'rape' these days. I liked the first Shift game, but I have heard too much bad stuff about this one. Now they want to nickel 'n dime people with DLC? Really EA?!?!?!?! How about putting out a quality product before trying to cash in on WEAK DLC? Their priority should be fixing the bugs before ripping people off.

EA is at it again with their DLC. I'm sure all this content could have easily fit in the game, but EA breaks it off and asks $10 for it. Why should I pay $70 for content that really should only cost $49.99 or less? I didn't buy Shift until a year after release. I got it for $22 on Ebay. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same thing with this game.

This is a great DLC for the Shift 2 game, i for one will get this, but i would ask EA Sports to look into fixing the bugs on the game as a priority first as there have been a lot of problems happening over the last week, just hope with this new DLC that a patch will also accompany.... (",)

Shift 2 is wack. DLC in general is even more wack. Would it be so bad to go back to giving consumers the entire game on the actual disc???

fzd88

Man, DLCs suck. Remember back in the days when games actually came with content? These big publishers want to milk the micro-transaction business model, but are too greedy to go 100%. There are two choices: 1. Charge 50$ for a game, and put everything in it (no DLCs) 2. The game is 100% free, but new items all cost money (low, like $1.00). This is the business model used by all Asian publishers and it's making them billions. EA, Activision, etc. wants in on this, but are not willing to give up the 50$ box price.
