Update: In response to the growing buzz surrounding the game, Strange Panther Games has launched an Indiegogo campaign to try to raise money for Rock Simulator 2014's creation. "Rock Simulator is a free-to-play game," the developer explains. "This means we have no money coming to us from the game."

Original Story:

First there were flight simulators and truck simulators. Then, we got train simulators and ship simulators. Goat Simulator, Car Mechanic Simulator, and Forklift Simulator soon followed.

But the life of a rock has never been simulated in game until now. Yes, Rock Simulator 2014 is currently in development. Right now in the conceptual phase, the game is being made a studio called Strange Panther Games. It's currently on Steam Greenlight for feedback only, and has not progressed toward getting approved to be published on Steam. However, it is in the top 15 most popular concepts on Greenlight.

The developer calls the game a "rock enthusiast's dream." Players will participate in several rock-related activities, including sitting on and rolling down a hill.

"For a long time, there has been one game missing from the market, a genuine rock simulator," the developer says about the game. "I am here for you today to introduce you to Rock Simulator 2014. This simulator is a rock enthusiast's dream. You can watch beautiful rocks in any location in the world. From grass plains to salt flats, there are dozens of hand designed beautiful environments."
