Rock Band 4 Bringing Back Popular Songs as DLC to Celebrate Franchise's 10th Anniversary

Harmonix has announced all the DLC songs coming to Rock Band 4 this month and also revealed plans to resurrect songs from past games. The month's lineup includes pop songs like Lady Gaga's "Applause" and Fun.'s "Some Nights," as well as classic rock cuts like "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult, Toto's "Hold the Line," and "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas.

Some of these songs, including "Carry On Wayward Son," were featured in past Rock Band disc games, but they are new to the game's DLC library. Harmonix said in a blog post that it's releasing some of the most popular disc songs as DLC to celebrate 2017 being Rock Band's 10th anniversary.

"Carry on Wayward Son" was from Rock Band 2, while "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" debuted in the original Rock Band. Another resurrected song, The All-American Rejects' "Swing, Swing," made its Rock Band premiere in Lego: Rock Band. Harmonix teased that even more favorites will be released in the coming months.

  • Fun. -- "Some Nights"
  • Kansas -- "Carry On Wayward Son"
  • Lady Gaga -- "Applause"
  • Lady Gaga -- "A-YO"
  • Lady Gaga -- "The Edge of Glory"
  • Megadeth -- "Trust"
  • OMI -- "Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)"
  • Slipknot -- "Dead Memories"
  • Toto -- "Hold the Line"

These songs will be released throughout the month. In terms of the DLC that's out this week, the "More Metal Pack 01" features some challenging songs, including "The Stage" by Avenged Sevenfold. The DLC pack also comes with Slipknot's "Dead Memories" and "Trust" by Megadeth.

You can get all three songs together for $5.50 or you can buy them individually for $2 each when they arrive in the Rock Band DLC store this Thursday, January 5. Here's a preview of what to expect:
