Konami today announced that Rengoku: Tower of Purgatory is now ready for battle on the PSP. The all-original game, developed by Bomberman house Hudson Soft, is now available in stores.

Rengoku is set in a dark and dreary postwar future designed by Japanese illustrator Jun Suemi. After a world war, combat androids have exhausted their uses and are abandoned in an eight-story tower. As A.D.A.M., a cyborg who questions his existence, gamers will fight other robots and bosses on their way to the tower's pinnacle, where a mysterious foe lies in wait.

As gamers progress upward, their android will be upgraded with new weapons and skills. Rengoku's many "dungeons" across the eight distinct levels are randomized to keep the action fresh. The game also features a wireless multiplayer deathmatch mode that supports up to four players.

Rengoku: Tower of Purgatory is rated M for Mature and sells for $39.99. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's previous coverage, or check back later today for the full review.
