Ubisoft made two announcements about its team-based shooter Rainbow Six: Siege today. First, the game's newest free expansion, Operation Velvet Shell, will come out February 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It includes two new Operators and one map. Maps are free to all players, while the characters will be for free to anyone who purchases a season pass for Year Two.

Everyone else will need to unlock them with either an in-game currency or one obtained in exchange for real-world money.

Operation Velvet Shell is themed around the Spanish special forces group Grupo Especial de Operaciones. The new map, Coastline, is set in a nice-looking nightclub in Ibiza.

One of the operators, Jackal, has been announced--you can read more about him here. The second has not yet been announced, but Ubisoft will share more details during Siege's upcoming competitive gaming tournament this weekend.

The other piece of news today is that Siege will be playable for free on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for one weekend, running February 2-5. You can learn more about the free weekend here.
