After a long ride, Rainbow Six Gold finally takes the number one spot.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Gold Edition rose to the top on the PC Data Hits List of Top-Selling Software for the week ending August 14, 1999. Starfleet Command from Interplay managed to butt its way into eighth place, though the other games are Hits List mainstays, including Roller Coaster Tycoon, Starcraft, Sim City 3000, Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2, and Half-Life, in that order.
