Infogrames has announced that TransWorld Surf will be released for the PlayStation 2 in spring 2002. The game, which is currently available for the Microsoft Xbox, features 13 top-ranked surfers and real-world locations such as the Pipeline in Hawaii and Kirra Point in Australia. The PlayStation 2 version of the game will include an exclusive new location based in Todos Santos, Mexico. The PS2 game will also have updated surfer licenses.

"TransWorld Surf has taken the gaming industry by storm with its incredible graphics and lifelike gameplay physics," said Laddie Ervin, director of marketing for Infogrames' Los Angeles label. "The next logical step was to offer it to an even broader audience by bringing it to PlayStation 2. TransWorld Surf immerses players into the surfing lifestyle like no other game. With the addition of the Todos Santos, Mexico, location, the shark attack multiplayer mode, and updated sponsors and licenses, PlayStation 2 owners are in for an insanely addictive and unique gaming experience."

Like the original Xbox game, the PlayStation 2 version of TransWorld Surf is being developed by Angel Studios.
