MindArk releases a downloadable beta version of its upcoming sci-fi online role-playing game.

Comments

Sweden-based game developer MindArk has announced the upcoming launch of a "commercial open trial" of Project Entropia, its sci-fi online role-playing game. The company has released a downloadable beta version that will let players help test the game while it is still in development. This beta test differs from the previous test by including the game's unusual economic system, in which players can exchange in-game money for real money and vice versa. Players have the option to go on quests and adventures in the game in order to obtain items and in-game currency, or they can purchase items and currency directly by paying real-world money. The game itself will be free to download and will not charge a subscription fee.

Project Entropia is set in the sci-fi world of Calypso. Players can explore the planet's wilderness, fight mutant creatures and robots, or tour the game's city areas. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game. To download the commercial open trial version of the game, visit the official Project Entropia Web site.
