League of Legends developer Riot Games has fined a professional team €5,000, and banned its manager indefinitely, following an internal investigation into bullying claims.

Prior to the start of the League of Legends 2015 League Championship Series (LCS), in January, a player by the name Marcin “Kori" Wolski announced he was leaving the professional team MeetYourMakers (MYM).

Following enquiries into his decision, Wolski claimed that his former team had sent him threats and had withheld payment he had been owed, and had offered recorded conversations as evidence.

Upon further examination, tournament officials determined that both Wolski and MYM had been in the wrong, and that MYM team manager Sam Rotterdam had conducted himself in an unprofessional manner.

Amid the outrage from fans, MYM fired Rotterdam from their team. Now, with LCS officials' investigation complete, the organiser has decided to take further disciplinary action. MYM has been fined €5,000 and has indefinitely banned Rotterdam from competing in the LCS or managing any other team.

Wolski, however, was also implicated in wrongdoing in Riot's blog post, which wrote: "Although it in no way justifies threats or intimidation, we also considered when deciding on a punishment the fact that Wolski appeared to break a commitment to a team, which put not only his career but those of his teammates in jeopardy."
