Preorder bonuses for The Witcher 3 at GOG will be "f***ing amazing"

CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski adds that, "It will be excellent and that's all I can say right now."

If you preorder The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt Red's own virtual storefront, GOG, it sounds like you're in for a treat. The preorder bonuses for the game there will be "f***ing amazing," according to studio head Marcin Iwinski.

"There was a question here...about how good the Witcher 3 preorder [bonuses] will be on GOG; it will be f***ing amazing, guys," Iwinski said during a Twitch stream this afternoon, but unfortunately, he did not say more.

We followed up with him after the stream ended for more information, but he wouldn't budge. "It will be excellent and that's all I can say right now," he said.

The Witcher 3 is not yet available for preorder at GOG. CD Projekt Red stands defiantly against DRM, so that's one bonus already that PC gamers can expect if they buy the game through GOG.

Originally scheduled to release this fall, CD Projekt Red recently delayed The Witcher 3 to February 2015. In addition to PC, the game is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Iwinski said previously that releasing the game on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, and keeping its spirit intact, would be impossible.

Still undecided between the Witcher 3 or Dragon Age inquisition...I wish I was rich enough to have both as well as plenty of time to play both of them, but thats not the case.

CDPR makes great games, and they have a great attitude about the gaming business.  And as an unreformed foul-mouthed executive myself, I can really appreciate a good f-bomb dropped by a studio head in public.  Let it all hang out, man!

Perplexed because I own a Mac for work and will probably get a Xbone for gaming but really want to see TW3 in all its glory on all maxed settings, which a bootcamp MBP won't do.  I bought TW2 twice, once from the App Store, then from GOG to get all the bonuses.  I'm off to go play the lottery.  Any tips, PM me.

I want the bonuses, I want to support GoG but I als owant a steam key :s. It's just so much more convenient for archiving old games and taking them out for a spin decades later.

I don't mind supporting them by buying through their own store. They get to keep full revenue off the game instead of having to give a piece to the retailer. With these guys, I'm fine with that.

freakin beautiful.  this is one company who always has my dollar.  they support the ideas gaming should be heading towards, instead of away from.

I'm all go with this, if they will give me steam code too, like with Witcher 1 and 2 from GOG. With the bonuses.

"Then we will promptly release the preorder DLC 2 weeks later in a patch removing DRM for non-GOG.com purchasers as punishment for not buying directly from us.

Your welcome, CD Projekt Red"

Awesome can't wait!

I would call bullsh*t on this statement from any other company, but it's CD Projekt Red, which means it'll be truly f*cking amazing.

I love CDPR and all, but wow... what a non-article.

I like the bonus items you get when buying games on GoG, but preorder bonuses have never appealled to me. Not to mention that I can't play The Witcher 3 on my current PC, a gaming backlog laptop. No matter how good The Witcher 3 is, I won't buy a new computer for it and so those preorder bonuses are moot.

Pre-order a physical copy or pre-order from GOG?...

I can't choose T_T

This is the only company I would ever preorder from again. Anxious to see what they have in store.

@dannydopamine8 you on crack? why are you pirating a game from a dev that is putting tons of money and effort to satisfy its players. if you don't purchase it, CD Projekt Red won't be as able to make more amazing games. i refuse to pirate witcher 3 because i continue to expect amazing products from red.

berserkaren

@dannydopamine8  Why would you pirate TW3 if it has no DRM and it is not that expensive? CDPR is the gamers developer, not too many are these days. If I'm reading between the lines here, you are ok with stealing?

@TrueProphecy22 This is nuance, but I believe GOG is owned by the parent company: "CD Projekt" and RED is the name of the in-house studio that makes The Witcher.  They also have other offices that make localizations of western games for the eastern european markets and other such things.  Any way you slice it, these cool guys get a bigger share of our money for their awesome game if we choose to buy through GOG, so that's a win, I say.

sinclairhxc

@myungish i can't really disagree, but i do appreciate the article being that i have even more positive feelings towards CDPR

@digishah  You can always save the installation files on a (several) disc, so...

(Yes, you can do that digital download haters).

Exactly, gets so annoying when you can't just jump over or down from stuff. The combat system needs to be more crisp like dark souls tho.

@RossRichard Standard "Human" sword for basic game preorder. Silver "Monster" sword for C.E.

@seba612 @alioli  I have none because tbh - preordering in itself is stupid. So - it really doesnt matter what they pull, but I guess I could hope for atleast no day one DLC

vannacut

@ZeroFallout1  witcher combat is way better than dark souls... i see nothing seriously nothing special about dark souls combat. one man said it was awesome, and the rest repeated it...

@alioli @seba612  You dont know  crap about this publisher then , they dont do DLC if something comes out you get the thing free so next time keep your damn mouth shut :p that way you dont look like a fool  mmmk plus they are anti DRM and the lasst 2 games have kicked butt and went to a whole other maturity lvl in games
