Powers returns to the PlayStation Network with Season 2 on May 31. The show focuses on two homicide detectives in a special division investigating people with superhuman abilities. The trailer for the second season debuted last month, and the show is diving deeper into the story from the comics.

Sony has given us an exclusive look at artist and co-creator Michael Avon Oeming's take on some of the actors in Season 2.

Detective Christian Walker is played by Sharlto Copley. Oeming discussed what it was like drawing the actor's likeness for the poster.

"I really enjoy bringing what the actors have brought to the characters- Sharlto has created an intensity to Walker that we rarely showed in the comic, Walker is a reserved character, with lots of secrets. He doesn't often express himself outside of extreme situations. Sharlto's Walker wears his emotions on his sleeve, he's in constant turmoil or excitement of some kind, he invites the viewer in instead of locking them out with mystery, so I've really enjoyed that."

Detective Deena Pilgrim is Walker's partner and played by Susan Heyward. She plays a big role in the Retro Girl case.

Michael Madsen joins the cast for the new season and plays SuperShock. In the comics, he was one of the oldest and more powerful Powers.

Oeming shared what it was like drawing Madsen's version of his characters.

"SuperShock might be my favorite to draw right now. Our costume designer Shawna Trpcic made my design for SuperShock's outfit, which was never intended to be 'real,' work amazingly. Madsen brings a cosmic awareness to the character, he feels both regal and like a force of nature all at once, somehow she caught all of that and it feeds back into my drawing. That lightning bolt is bad ass!"

We'll have more exclusive character posters next week.
