Lionsgate has shared some new images of Rita Repulsa from next year's Power Rangers movie. The images, released today on Twitter as part of a "Rita Repulsa takeover" event, showcase the villain played by Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks. Take a look at the images below.

Lionsgate released the first images of Repulsa in April this year. As you can see, the villainous character looks very different than what we saw on the '90s TV show.

The first trailer for Power Rangers was released in October, and it suggests that the film is going for a more serious tone than the series may be known for.

Power Rangers opens in theaters on March 24, 2017, directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac). It stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, and Bryan Cranston.

Power Rangers first appeared on screens in 1993's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. The show mixed new American scenes with footage taken from the Japanese show Super Sentai. To date there have been 23 TV series and two earlier movies.

A new Power Rangers game, Power Rangers: Mega Battle, is slated to come out in January 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
