Pokemon Wii U Fighting Game Gets Instructional "How to Play" Video

That's one heck of a punch, Pikachu.

Pokken Tournament is a little more than a month away, and if you've been wondering how it plays, you can find out now with an instructional video. It's entirely in Japanese, but the visuals make it easy to understand what's going on. You can watch it below (via Destructoid).

The video features instructions on how to execute some of Pikachu and Lucario's moves. Like Soulcalibur and Super Smash Bros., Pokken Tournament's moves have you holding a direction on the D-pad and pressing a button. This video showcases moves with the A button specifically.

The special moves are executed by pressing both L and R when a rainbow-colored bar is full. Pikachu sends himself flying head first into his opponent, before flipping them into the air and following through with one heck of a dragon punch. Lucario, on the other hand, uppercuts its opponent into the air and then hits them with several small projectiles before throwing a much larger beam-like attack their way.

The video also gives us a look at the Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card.

Pokken Tournament launches March 18 on Wii U.

A special controller will release alongside the Pokemon fighting game, but it looks like it's coming with a few limitations.
