Pokemon Toys Land At Retail

Hasbro begins the roll out of the first Pokemon toys and action figures. Gotta Catch 'em All

Based on the principle that propelled the Beanie Babies phenomenon into a craze - that some are harder to find than others - Hasbro announced that it is now shipping its first line of Pokemon toys. To be available nationwide soon, the first toys based on the property will be made up of plastic action figures of some of the game's 150 monsters. Here's a rundown of what will be available and when:

Power BouncerMSRP $2.99 – NovemberClear bouncing balls that have plastic Pokemon characters inside. Available characters are: Poliwhirl, Charizard, Blastoise, Flareon, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Mewtwo.

Pokemon Battle Figures SetMSRP $4.99 – NovemberThese are twin packs of Pokemon figures inside of clear plastic Pokeballs (they can be removed from the Pokeballs), and two "Battle Discs." Characters are Pikachu/Raichu, Pidgey/Pidgeot, Rattata/Raticate, Sandshrew/Sandslash, Meowth/Gengar, Geodude/Golem, Kakuna/Beedrill, Eevee and Flareon.

Electronic Pokemon FiguresMSRP - $7.50 – NovemberThese electronic Pokemon feature sounds, lights and/or speech. Characters are Pikachu, Charmander and Meowth.

Poke Ball BlasterMSRP $7.50 – NovemberThese figures include the three evolutionary stages of the characters plus a Poke Ball Blaster toy (looks like a Game Boy). Characters are Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise, Pikachu and ???, and Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard.

Pokemon Small Bean-Filled Plush AssortmentMSRP $4.99 – FebruaryJust as it says, these are bean bag characters of your favorite Pokemon. Unfortunately, the characters that will be included as beanies have not been announced.

Pikachu PlushMSRP $9.99 – FebruaryThis eight inch tall Pikachu is the perfect companion for any would-be Pokemon master.
