Pokemon Gold and Silver Limited?

Taiwanese earthquake shakes up GBC Pokemon Gold and Silver production.

Comments

Reports from Japan indicate that the initial shipment of the Game Boy hit sequel, Pokemon Gold and Silver, will contain considerably fewer copies than had been projected. An initial shipment of three million copies was planned, but currently, production has reached only 50 percent of that amount. Whether production can exceed 50 percent remains questionable, according to a Nintendo representative in Japan. The production problems were caused by the recent earthquake in Taiwan, which also affected Nintendo's downloadable game service, called the Nintendo Power.

Pokemon Gold and Silver are scheduled for a November 21 release in Japan.
