Pokemon Day Begins

Did you catch Pokemon fever today? If not, you've missed out on the fun.

Today's the day Nintendo's Pokemon hit store shelves nationwide. Both the blue and red versions of the game have been selling briskly according to stores that GameSpot News spoke with.

Some locations have not been receiving many copies of the game, and the local Electronics Boutique near EGM's HQ only received six copies of each version.

During our travels we noticed that several people were purchasing both versions of the game. You don't have to do this. Both versions are literally the same game - the only difference is the monsters. Some of the monsters in the red version aren't in the blue version and vice versa. Now if you're not a school-aged boy/girl, or if you don't have an office where there are a couple Pokemon players, you may find it necessary to get both versions to get all 150 Pokemon monsters.
