On Monday, Infogrames announced that Mission Impossible for the PlayStation has shipped to stores. The PlayStation version of the game is based on the previously released Nintendo 64 version.

According to Infogrames, Mission Impossible for the PlayStation will be backed by a US$2.5 million dollar marketing campaign that will include radio and television commercials on major cable stations. "Because of its innovative and adventurous gameplay, in addition to the well-known brand name, Mission Impossible will reach beyond the normal realm of hard-core gamers," said Francois Lourdin, director of marketing for Infogrames North America's adventure label. "The muscle we have behind the marketing of the game will also help make this title a must-have for PlayStation owners this holiday season."

Look for Mission Impossible to surface on retail shelves this week. Then your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to purchase the game.
