A new series of PlayStation game-themed collectible cards will soon be available for a limited time, though unfortunately your only way of getting your hands on them is by attending PlayStation Experience.

Fans at Sony's upcoming event will have the chance to collect 35 different cards, each apparently featuring an individual game (such as Star Wars Battlefront, Day of the Tentacle, and The Last Guardian). A complete deck actually consists of 66 cards, due to some coming in both common and rare varieties. Sony's Michael Steranka says in a PlayStation Blog post that it should "be next to impossible for anyone to collect them all, but I'm sure that won't stop some of you from trying."

By playing certain games at the show, you'll receive a card. Sony isn't sharing exactly which booths will hand cards out, though, and it's not giving any indication at all as to how to get rares. Whichever cards you do get your hands on can be stored in a tuckbox that comes as part of the free gift bag for attending.

Steranka also notes that "there's another, secret layer to this collectible game that we can’t reveal just yet." The only clue being offered right now is "to poke your head in every corner of the Moscone West hall to unearth more precious collectibles."

Only a limited supply of these cards will be available, which all but guarantees you can expect them to end up for sale on eBay before long.

This year's PlayStation Experience, the second ever, is set to take place December 5-6 in San Francisco. You can still get tickets here and see what's set to be on display at the show here.
