Nintendo bringing Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World to Comic-Con

Mario maker reveals Comic-Con lineup includes blockbuster Wii U games, as well as 3DS Zelda and Yoshi games.

by

Nintendo today announced its 2013 Comic-Con lineup, revealing the public will be able to play numerous unreleased Wii U and 3DS titles at the San Diego show later this week and into the weekend.

Nintendo's booth on the show floor will feature various Pikmin 3 kiosks as well as "unique photo opportunities" for attendees.

Those without a Comic-Con badge can visit the Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina hotel, where various Wii U and 3DS titles will be playable.

These include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Sonic Lost World, and Bayonetta 2. Also playable will be New Super Luigi U, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Rayman Legends, Skylanders Swap Force, Disney Infinity, The Wonderful 101, and Just Dance 2014.

3DS games on display will be Yoshi's New Island, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Shin Megami Tensei IV, and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

Nintendo is not the only game company that will have a presence at Comic-Con. Sony and Microsoft are bringing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively, to the show, while Capcom, Ubisoft, Deep Silver, and TellTale Games will also attend the show.

GameSpot will be on hand at Comic-Con later this week. Check back for more as the event unfolds.

Wow, just noticed the nintendo haters in here. They should quit gaming altogether then.

I liked Windwaker, but I will double dip only if it gets a challenge mode (because it was the easiest of the 3d ones) and they get rid of the fetch quest (couldn't get to the end because of it).

I just beat OoT again few days ago. I still think wind waker is a better game. I need to rip my gamecube disk so I can play it again(on my PC)

YAWN! Where are the games that give me a reason to purchase this overpriced, dated last gen,(next gen for Nintendo) console.

I wish Nintendo had improved the Cel shadedness of this game rather then taking away from it.

I never got to complete the Wind Waker due to the slow sailing in the game it kept taking my entertainment away from the title. I can't wait for the Wii U version, since I can sit comfortably in my room and play it.

I'm still not set on the cellshade graphics. But I don't mind it for one or two titles. I'm really hoping the new Zelda doesn't take the same route in graphics.

wow more of the same old stuff that I have played over and over and over before, I am so excited (sarcasm)

Two things makes me cry: people bashing Nintendo and listen to an Adele's song.

I really looking forward for this games. Of this year: i want Mario, Sonic, The Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong and Wind Waker. Also there are the 3DS games.

Wind Waker HD looks so pretty... I wish there were enough good games for the Wii U to warrant buying one.

They need a price cut on Wii U. That is all.

I feel sorry for the consumers who purchased the GameCube version for $100.00 or more off of Amazon.

Make it 10 times as hard and I might be interested. Seriously Nintendo, we want challenging games. Good thing there's Dark Souls.

as a Consumer, I don't even have an idea where should start purchasing Nintendo games,,,

I mean there's so many Mario games, I can't even differentiate one game after another.

Super Mario, Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros Wii U, New Super Mario Bros, New Super Mario Bros Wii. WTF

can't even differentiate where's DS or 3DS games or Wii or Wii U Mario games either.

so sick with Nintendo and their similar names.

lol I wonder if its a statement about E3 that Nintendo would rather have been at Comicon and not E3. lol they were at Best Buy and not at E3.

I wish I could go to ComicCon, not for Nintendo but for many, many other things.

@Kos1c You didn't give it enough time, the Sailing works perfectly fine, then [POSSIBLE SPOILERS] you can teleport and move the wind faster if you wish

@themyth01 But kids don't like challenging games, and that's Nintendo's target audience.

In the time it took you to write your comment you could have searched "Mario bros" on the gamespot search bar and it would have given a list that includes every Mario bros game since the DS with what year it came out and what console its for.

Minimal research can provide almost any answer and makes the consumer more educated!

@Thanatos2kSays the guy that will probably buy a sequel or a rehash of some franchise that he loves in the future, like honestly, most of us.

@HonorOfGod It's a remake........................How many Metal Gear Solid or God of War remakes have there been? Exactly.

Kos1c

I don't remember where abouts I got too. I think I was finding the last triforce piece. I was about 12 years old when this title came out, but I didn't own a Game Cube, so the amount of time I got to put into the game was limited due to my brother taking the GameCube off me after 30-45mins of game play. So that would of been another reason I gave up on the title as I couldn't put in enough hours to progress respectively.

So I'm glad it's getting a re-release as I can finish off the title.

Chico86_basic

@Thanatos2k @themyth01 Not exactly. I usually don't play games by difficulty and I'm not a kid anymore. Still I agree that Nintendo games are too easy nowadays.

stan_boyd
stan_boyd

@Mugzippit the point is he shouldn't have to. Everyone rags on CoD for making game after game after game, but nintendo does the same thing and the same people who rag on CoD praise nintendo for making the same game over and over and over again.

Thanatos2k
Thanatos2k

@Sampawende @Thanatos2k No, see, lots of new games that you can play come out all the time.  Unless you're some kind of moron who only owns a Wii U, it's not better than nothing - because I can just play something else.

@Prime_28 Yep. The PS3 is full of HD remakes. Hit Man, Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid. What about the God of War collection?

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@Prime_28 Yeah but most Metal Gear sequels are actually an improvement, unlike most Nintendo games.

A HD remake is the same as what they normally pass for a new game.

@Chico86_basic You want a hard Nintendo game? Donkey Kong Country Returns. Hell, Mario Galaxy is quite difficult in some stages and challenges.

stan_boyd
stan_boyd

@Mugzippit mario hasn't appeared more than once on a console? Mario Galaxy 1 an 2 are both on the wii, mario party 4,5,6 and 7 were all on the cube. you can also argue that there are different call of duty series world war 2 stuff, modern warfare stuff, and black ops stuff. each series being somewhat different because of the setting. But really cod is the same old same old and so is mario.

Mugzippit
Mugzippit

@stan_boyd @Mugzippit While on the surface they both appear similar, CoD is far worse then the Mario Bros series.

CoD games have been yearly releases since 2005 (that's 9 games including Ghosts) and feature multiple versions across the same console.

Mario bros on the other hand have produced 4 games (less then half the number of CoD games) within the same time span and no Super Mario Bros game has featured more then 1 per console (DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U). The alternative would be a Nintendo console that doesn't feature it's biggest franchise in the genre that Mario originated from.

As for not having to do research into gaming, how would you know the names of all the Super Mario Bros games and not be aware of each console they are on? its very rare that any news or info on a game comes out without stating what console it is for.

Prime_28
Prime_28

@HonorOfGod @Prime_28 Kinda disappointing to see you still trolling NInteno articles after all this time...I really thought you would have....oh I don't know.....grown up by now? lol

nintendoboy16
nintendoboy16

@Dannystaples14 Oh, here comes the "improvement" card. It doesn't mean s*** when you throw out more games in the SAME FREAKING FRANCHISE. Ironic someone with a DBZ avatar (don't get me wrong, I love that series, it's one of my favorite anime/manga) says this when there have been so many manga, game and DVD releases in that ENTIRE franchise.

Besides, rehashing isn't entirely a bad thing. I admit, I love my DBZ Season One DVD's (as well as other DB products, a few games being some of them) as well as quite a few long running game franchises.

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@19James89 No but normally Nintendo come along with "new game X" and it looks like just another same game with slightly different looks that has been produced since the 90s.

Just look at Super Mario Bros. The original was a side scrolling 2D, platformer and it is still pretty much the same game only the visuals are slightly better and they have JUST stepped into 3D territory.

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@xgalacticax How can it be a HD remake without changes in texture? For HD remakes they increase the resolution then add some textures otherwise it would wash out the textures instead.

I mean older games were only lower res because they didn't have that much detail. If you want to increase the resolution and not make it look even worse you have to put textures in.

Also a Nintendo game has textures? I thought it was just blocks of colour.

xgalacticax
xgalacticax

@Dannystaples14 Still better than the HD remakes on the PS3 where it's the same game with the same textures and everything. At least Nintendo is putting some effort into it with new textures and tweaks to the interface and game play.

19James89
19James89

@Dannystaples14 They've not passed WW off as a new game, so that criticism is out of line and just makes you come across as an ill-informed cretin.
