Next Bond for Nintendo's Next?

Rumors are circulating on the Net that Nintendo has picked up the rights to the next Bond flick... but Nintendo stays mum.

Ever since Nintendo and Rare struck gaming gold with GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64, there have been rumors that the Big N would once again snatch up the Bond license and turn it into another megahit. With Tomorrow Never Dies, that proved false, but now a new Bond movie (The World is Not Enough) is on the plate for release later this year, and the rumors have popped back up.

Rumors are persistent that Nintendo has indeed won the video game rights to produce another Bond title, but Nintendo is not talking about it. A Nintendo spokesman told GameSpot News today that there's no information on this rumor from Nintendo.

Reportedly, the game will not be done on the N64. Instead, it's being saved for Nintendo's next console as a first-wave title. If this proves to be true, Nintendo's next system could have a generous kick-start into competing with next-gen console entries from Sega and Sony.
