Nvidia today released a new group of screenshots from Zetha gameZ's futuristic action game, DroneZ. The screenshots are part of Nvidia's ongoing demonstration of the GeForce3 graphics chip, and they demonstrate some of the advanced rendering capabilities of the chip. DroneZ uses a proprietary 3D game engine called the nGenius II that includes a custom illumination model. When running on a GeForce3 chip, the game's illumination model can be transferred to the nFiniteFX engine along with bump-mapping, reflections, and several other graphic features. This leaves the CPU free to process other parts of the game, such as the physics model, collision detection, and artificial intelligence.
