New Links 2004 course available ... for $4.99

Microsoft continues its new policy of charging Xbox Live users for new content by sticking a price tag on a new golf game level.

The good news: Links 2004 players can download a whole new level--the picturesque, par 73, 7,263-yard Plantation Course at Kapalua, Hawaii--on Xbox Live.

The bad news: It ain't free.

Following in the footsteps of the fee it charged for "premium content" for MechAssault, Microsoft is asking Links players to reach into their golf pants and pony up $4.99 for the new course. To sweeten the deal, Microsoft is giving a new set of golf clubs and three GPS -enabled Suunto Golf Watches to four lucky U.S. residents who download the game.
