Nintendo has release a short gameplay clip for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The video, which was posted on Twitter, shows some of the abilities Link can unlock using runes. Among these are creating ice pillars, which he can climb up on to, then hop along.

Another ability, which was shown extensively during E3 2016, allows Link to lift objects into the air. This means he can grab treasure chests from afar, or simply throw around objects to make mischief. Naturally, these abilities, and many more, will be key to solving puzzles and completing dungeons. Take a look at the video below.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was originally scheduled to launch in 2016, but is now set to launch on both Wii U and NX in 2017.

Although a specific release date has not been announced for the game, the NX release date has been confirmed as being in March 2017. It may be that Breath of the Wild will be available as a launch title for it, but this has not been official confirmed.

A recent report claimed Breath of the Wild, as well as new Mario and Pokemon games, will be available for NX within six months of its release.

Nintendo has stated that Breath of the Wild needs to sell 2 million copies to become profitable. The last new console entry in the Legend of Zelda series was Skyward Sword for the Wii, which has sold more than 3.4 million copie
