A new Left 4 Dead game is in the works, but it might not be the one you were hoping for. Valve has partnered with Japanese publisher Taito for a new game in the series called Left 4 Dead Survivors, which is being designed specifically for Japanese arcades.

This isn't the first time Valve and Taito have teamed up for an arcade game. In 2006, Taito released Half-Life 2: Survivor for Japanese arcades. You can see a video of it here.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about Left 4 Dead Survivors, apart from a live-action video released earlier this year, when the game was known as "Project Z." A teaser website for Left 4 Dead Survivors says it is "coming soon."

There is growing speculation that Valve is in fact working on a third entry in the Left 4 Dead series. Left 4 Dead 3 was spotted in a project tracker last June, and another listing for the game appeared just months later. The original Left 4 Dead launched in October 2008, with its sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, arriving just one year later.
