New Grand Theft Auto V trailer next week

Hurricane Sandy-delayed second trailer for Rockstar Games' much-anticipated open-world action game arriving November 14.

by

The next trailer for Grand Theft Auto V is nine days away. Rockstar Games announced today that the second trailer for its hotly hyped action game will arrive Wednesday, November 14.

Last week, Rockstar Games announced that the trailer had been delayed due to a Hurricane Sandy-related power outage at the company's New York City office. Power has since returned to much of the Big Apple.

It was not announced what the new GTAV trailer will offer. The game's debut trailer arrived in early November 2011 and revealed that the project would be set in a fictional California and that it represents the most ambitious Rockstar game ever.

For more on GTAV, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

Lol at least they're trying to build some hype around the game no matter how desperate it is hopefully the trailer is worth the wait

Hurricane Sandy delayed the release of the trailer. Right. Now an announcement of an announcement. This is the saddest attempt at building hype I have ever witnessed.

Sweet, so now we have release dates for trailers. What's next? Trailers for upcoming trailers?

I hope to see a little bit of gameplay, even though that's probably a long shot.

But yes, I think we can rest sure of there being new and awesome stuff in the next trailer, after all they've kept their fans waiting for a year for this next trailer.

Gamer_4_Fin - If I remember this right, GTA IV's special edition didn't arrive with the regular game, I think it came later. I'm not sure though. But hey, it's GTA, of course there will be a special edition! :-)

I was disappointed Rockstar didn't show any pre-order incentive or collector's edition. Does anyone know whether the game will have any collector's edition? If so, then why they didn't show it yet?

So you are announcing when a trailer is coming, huh. This kind of reminds me when someone will have a press conference to announce a press conference for sometime down the road.  Good thing trailers don't do a damn thing for me.

I'm holding back on my pre-order because I want to see what the special edition has to offer this time around. I still use the lock box and keychain from IV.

Given the time it took them, one whole year is just nuts, this new trailer is sure to have some juicy stuff in it.  It probably won't be much longer than the first but any new info is fine by me.

Lost 60% of my interest when they said all focus is going towards console.

I love GTA and I'm super hyped for this new game, but I see little point in delivering a news article about the delivery date of a trailer.

I can not wait to play this sort of, but along with this game I have to pre-order sorry let me rephrase that  re-pre-order Bioshock: Infinite and Pre-order Aliens: Colonial Marines and Crysis 3.

Wow some how Mr. Makuch you yet again manage to misslead everyone with one of your article's here's the article preview copy & pasted from the news section "Hurricane Sandy-delayed second trailer for Rockstar Games' much-anticipated open-world action game arriving November 14" With the way u worded this article preview it sounds as though your saying the 2nd trailer for R* action game THAT RELEASES on the 14th is delayed what you mean to say is that the trailer releases on the 14th not the game but it sounds as though the game releases on the 14th and the 2nd trailer for it has been delayed. Dude you gotta be mindful of what you type your a professional journalist mistakes like these make you look bad gamespot as whole.

@Kingjames11 What's wrong with that? So many people were constantly asking about new info and when would they release the second trailer so now they got it.

@Gamer_4_Fun Maybe there won't be one, there was that picture viewer thingy customers who had already preordered got, which is fair enough, but they don't need to release preorder incentives, and it is my hope they don't for this unless it's something inconsequential like in RDR

@HipHopBeats Then you're out of luck. You will NEVER see a single piece of gameplay footage of this game prior to release. Unless it gets leaked just before release, and of course there will be footage in reviews of the game. But I guarantee you Rockstar won't release one piece of gameplay footage. They didn't with GTA IV. Just cinematic trailers.

For most games I'll consider that a bad thing, but this is Grand Theft Auto for crying out loud! This is Rockstar we're talking about. I don't need to see gameplay footage of a GTA game to know it's going to be mind blowing. In fact seeing gameplay of a GTA prior to release would kinda ruin it. Not only do I not expect gameplay footage prior to release. I don't want it. There's something special about seeing a GTA game in action for the very first time by playing it first hand. Rockstar know people are going to buy it anyway, so they make sure our first impressions are so freaking fantastic by keeping the gameplay a surprise.

Too many big games out there spoil way too much prior to release. I'm glad Rockstar keep their GTA games a surprise before release. Makes everything more special. For a game I'm not quite sold on I agree with your point. Cinematic trailers mean nothing to me. Unlike most people I didn't buy in to the stupid Dead Island hype. But I already know GTA will be awesome by their track record, so I'm glad the gameplay is kept a surprise.

king_wrecked

@HipHopBeats good point.  something that's caused me to swear at the tv for many years now.  the game is about gameplay.  if a game is all about cutscenes, it's probably not worth playing.

and i don't know about you, but i usually "press start" my way out of cutscenes.  i want to play!

The_Gump
The_Gump

@HipHopBeats Agreed.  Cinematics do NOTHING for me anymore.  They were awesome back in the 90s when FMV was all the rage and you would plug through a game just to see the cinematics.  Nowadays, the gameplay often looks better than the cinematics, and that's exactly what I want to see.

@KeviNOlighT  @Kingjames11 I know, don't tell people when the second trailer is: "Oh cum one R* ur letting down you're loyal customers by not releasing a trailer!!1!!!one!"

But if you do tell people when the second trailer is: "Com of you're thrown R* this is pathetic"

Be happy that we get another trailer and hopefully Rockstar will produce a game even better than RDR!
